Adobe Developer Olympiad


Adobe has announced Developer Olympiad for students pursuing a degree in any stream as a full time student of a recognized university in India.

The contest will have three broad categories

  1. Engineering
  2. Applications
  3. Flex ColdFusion Integration

Individual as well as group entries (max team size is 5) are allowed. The winners of each category will walk away with a prize of INR 50000!!

Receiving the proposals: 10th Jan 2007
Receiving the prototypes: 31st Jan 2007
Receiving the complete implementation: 27th Feb 2007

Adobe released Flash Player 9 Update 1 (Beta)


Adobe has recently released Adobe released Flash Player 9 Update 1 (Build: This build includes many bug fixes and minor enhancements; this release introduces support for full screen mode in the web player and support for Windows Vista.

New Feature: Full screen mode

Flash Player 9 Update 1 supports full screen mode in the web players, enabling greater immersive experiences for Flash, Flex and Flash video content. More information will be provided for this feature in the forums

Can AJAX Used for making web apps graphical rich?


Today I came across two contrast posts on zdnet blog. One post says graphical richness is easy with AJAX and the other post is contradicts first post by saying Don’t try to do interactive graphics with Ajax

This is again an interesting topic for debate for Ajax vs Flash and Windows Presentation Foundation.

Form few days I am stepping into Open Laszlo. I came across good example of RIA email client LaszloMail built using OpenLaszlo.

Just Read in Emmy Huang’s blog, that Flash Player 8 is at 86% penetration this is fabulous figure which Flash Player 8 has achieved in 9 moths.

We can simply say “Flash Rocks!!!”
